Artist Talk and Sewing Circle at The International Museum of Surgical Science

Join us on November 19th at 6:00pm for Michelle Hartney's sewing circle and artist talk discussing her recent exhibit "Unplanned Parenthood" at IMSS. Michelle will speak about about the origins of the project, which began around the time the Dobbs case was linked by the Supreme Court, and will discuss the history of birth control in the United States and the role racism and misogyny play in maternal health outcomes in America. During the talk folks are invited to take part in the project by sewing letters that need to be completed for future pieces.

Please note that this presentation will touch on sensitive topics that may not be appropriate for all ages.
